MW Entertainments 'Yorkshire Room' Complete

HELP FOR Heroes champions Mick Mangham and Sean Wallage have thanked businesses and individuals who have combined to ensure the success of a major project.

The duo, who head Rotherham based MW Entertainments, have raised more than £60,000 over the past few years for the charity.

But 15 months ago they set themselves another ambitious target after visiting Phoenix House Recovery Centre, based at Catterick Garrison.

It is run by Help for Heroes and supported by the Royal British Legion and aims to inspire those who have been wounded, injured or become sick while serving the country and enable them to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives.

The centre has been specially designed and constructed to offer the very best recovery atmosphere.

It has 46 single en-suite bedrooms, four family suites, an arts and craft room as well as training, presentation and IT suites.

A gym with specialist equipment, a cafe and social areas also form part of the new centre.

Each of the rooms costs £25,000 and Mick and Sean set themselves the task of raising enough to pay for one of them.

So they contacted local businesses and held a series of events in a bid to raise the £25,000 ,which has now been reached for the MW Entertainments Yorkshire Room.

Mick said; "We are thrilled and over whelmed at the response from the public of Rotherham.

"They have always been generous in supporting our efforts for Help for heroes, but this time they have surpassed themselves.

"In these difficult times, when money is tight, to collect £25,000 in such a relatively short time is absolutely amazing.

"We would just like to say a great big thank you to everyone who has supported us and I am sure it will continue.

"We visited Phoenix House and it is truly a magnificent place which needs all the help we can give it."
